Large cylindrical LiFePO4 battery cells are round lithium iron phosphate cells in formats from 26 mm to 46 mm diameter — the 32650, 32700, 32140, 33140 and 46950 — carrying 3 Ah to 25 Ah at a 3.2 V nominal platform. CMX Battery supplies all five formats as a Grade-A cells supplier for energy storage, telecom backup, solar and mobility programs, with per-lot capacity, internal resistance and OCV test data on every shipment.

We are an OEM/ODM factory, not a reseller. Where a figure is format-specific we say so rather than quoting a best case; the tables below combine published manufacturer specifications with our own production standard, and final parameters ship against the controlled product specification issued with your quotation.

The five formats at a glance

FormatDimensionsCapacityEnergy per cellCycle lifeBest for
32650Ø32 × 65–70.5 mm6 Ah≈19.2 Wh2000+Cost-sensitive volume; legacy 65 mm holders
32700Ø32.2 × 70.5 mm6 Ah≈19.2 Wh2000+ @100% DODNew designs; fast recharge; high-rate duty
32140Ø33 × 140 mm15 Ah≈48 Wh>3500UL 1642 certification path (Lithium Werks / CBAK)
33140Ø33 × 140 mm15 Ah≈48 Wh2500–4000+Cold-climate and high-volume ESS (EVE C33 / Gotion)
46950Ø46 × 95 mm25 Ah≈80 Wh≥5000High-capacity ESS; Wh-per-cell priority (CHAM 46950S25E class)

The ladder runs 6Ah → 15Ah → 25Ah: each step trades charge rate and second-source depth for cell count, energy density and cycle life. Formats we do not produce — 4680, 38121, 38910, 40152 — are covered in our complete format guide.

Choosing a format: start from the target pack

Target pack (51.2 V)Recommended formatCell countWhy
15 Ah (768 Wh)32140 / 33140 (15 Ah)16 cells (16S1P)Exact match — 16 cells versus 48 in the 6Ah class
30 Ah (1,536 Wh)32140 / 33140 (15 Ah)32 cells (16S2P)Exact match; halves welds and BMS channels
50 Ah (2,560 Wh)46950 (25 Ah)32 cells (16S2P)Exact match at the 25Ah step
100 Ah (5,120 Wh)46950 (25 Ah)64 cells (16S4P)Exact match; ≈178 Wh/kg gravimetric density

Pack economics: why cell count decides cost of goods

Target pack (51.2 V)32650 / 32700 (6 Ah)32140 / 33140 (15 Ah)46950 (25 Ah)
15 Ah (768 Wh)16S3P = 48 cells16S1P = 16 cells16 cells (25 Ah overshoot)
30 Ah (1,536 Wh)16S6P = 96 cells16S2P = 32 cells32 cells (50 Ah overshoot)
100 Ah (5,120 Wh)≈272 cells112 cells64 cells (100 Ah match)

Fewer cells means fewer welds, fewer busbars, fewer BMS sampling points and less assembly labor — the difference lands directly in cost of goods at volume. The trade-off is flexibility: a 6Ah design can be re-configured by changing parallel count, while 15Ah and 25Ah designs are locked to their capacity steps. Step-by-step configuration math is in our pack configuration guide.

Supply, certification and ordering

All five formats ship as Grade-A cells with UN 38.3, IEC 62619, CE and MSDS documentation; the Lithium Werks 32140 line additionally holds UL 1642 and BIS for North American and Indian programs. Lot-level documentation — capacity, internal resistance and open-circuit voltage per cell — accompanies each shipment. MOQ 100 pcs, samples available, 15-day lead time; quotations come back within 24 hours. OEM/ODM services include welded tabs or connectors to your drawing, label branding with your model number, BMS integration from 12 V to 51.2 V, and packaging configured to your line.

Frequently asked questions

What are large cylindrical LiFePO4 battery cells?
Round lithium iron phosphate cells in formats from 26 mm to 46 mm diameter — 32650, 32700, 32140, 33140 and 46950 — rated 3 Ah to 25 Ah at 3.2 V nominal, used in energy storage, telecom backup, solar and mobility packs.

Which large cylindrical formats does CMX Battery produce?
Five: 32650 and 32700 (6 Ah class), 32140 and 33140 (15 Ah class, dual naming standard), and 46950 (25 Ah class). We do not produce 4680, 38121, 38910 or 40152; those formats are documented in our format guide.

How many cells does a 51.2V 100Ah pack need?
64 cells (16S4P) in the 46950 25Ah format, 112 in the 15Ah class, or ≈272 in the 6Ah class — a 51.2 V nominal pack needs 16 cells in series at 3.2 V per cell, with parallel strings set by capacity.

What is the difference between 32140 and 33140?
Same 15Ah envelope (Ø33 × 140 mm), different manufacturers: 32140 covers CBAK and Lithium Werks; 33140 covers Gotion and EVE. They are drop-in substitutes in most designs — see the full comparison.

Which format is best for a home energy storage system?
For a 51.2 V / 15–30 Ah block the 15Ah class (32140/33140) is the exact match at 16–32 cells; for 50–100 Ah blocks the 46950 cuts count to 32–64 cells. Choose the 32700 only where fast recharge or 3C rate matters more than cell count.

Are the cells certified for shipping and storage use?
Yes — UN 38.3 (transport test summary), MSDS, IEC 62619 (industrial storage safety) and CE on all formats; UL 1642 and BIS on the Lithium Werks 32140 line. Lot-level test data ships with every batch.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
MOQ 100 pcs per format, samples available, 15-day lead time, quotation within 24 hours. Minimums and lead times are confirmed with your quotation.
